From The Code to Heaven and Hell, Inferno Is Sure to Thrill
June 27, 2016
With the upcoming release of the film Inferno, the third instalment from the Dan Brown series, I thought it only fitting to do a throwback review of the movie that first introduced me to Dr. Robert Langdon and his exploits. Angels and Demons was my first experience with the series prior to seeing this film I had neither read the books or seen the first film, The Da Vinci Code, but even so I was blown away. As a movie and TV buff very little in the way of storyline surprises me anymore but I walked away after seeing Angels and Demons truly speechless.
The continuous plot twists will keep you guessing until the last minute and with Tom Hanks at the helm as Robert Langdon how could you go wrong. Accompanied by a stellar cast that includes Ewan McGregor and Stellan Skarsgard this movie told a very intriguing tale of conspiracy at the very highest level of the church that only Langdon himself could unravel.
For those you who like me have not read or seen the other parts of the series, have no fear as you can easily follow on without any prior knowledge of the story, in fact I would dare say you will enjoy the movie more if you haven't read the books.
With the exception of a couple of cringe worthy scenes, an absolutely delectable thriller. I give it 4/5.
