Nelson Mandela, in his first term as the South African President, initiates a unique venture to unite the apartheid-torn land: enlist the national rugby team on a mission to win the 1995 Rugby World Cup.
This incredible true story is a truly inspiring film whether or not you're rugby fan. The storyline of this movie has multiple elements; it has the struggle of a new president, who was already under so much scrutiny, to effect real change in a country that had experienced so much and turmoil and there is a struggle of a different kind. The struggle of national rugby captain to turn his floundering team into a team of winners and a team that their nation could be proud of.
At the helm of this epic story is the incredibly accomplished Morgan Freeman and academy award winner, Matt Damon. A feel good movie if I've ever seen one.
